Fabrication

FRP Fabrication

Hand lay-up and filament winding, shop-fabricated or field-assembled — up to 15 meters in diameter.

Two proven processes, one team

Crimar fabricates FRP by hand lay-up for complex geometries, nozzles, covers and dampers, and by filament winding for high-strength cylindrical tanks, vessels and pipe. Large equipment that exceeds transport limits is field-wound and assembled on site by our crews.

What we can build

  • Diameters up to 15 m; length effectively unlimited by field assembly
  • Corrosion barrier + structural laminate engineered per service
  • Integral flanges, nozzles, manways, ladders, platforms and lifting lugs
  • Shop fabrication in China & Mexico; field fabrication worldwide
  • Rigging, transport and on-site installation supervision

A three-country fabrication network for global projects

To serve customers on every continent while controlling cost, lead time and origin, Crimar fabricates across three countries. Work is placed where it makes the most sense — capability, cost, logistics or regional content — while our customers deal with a single accountable partner from engineering through installation.

China

Hengshui & Shijiazhuang

Our primary FRP manufacturing base — roughly 8,600 m² of workshops for hand lay-up and filament winding of tanks, vessels, pipe, scrubbers and dampers up to 15 m in diameter, plus pultrusion and grating lines. ISO 9001 certified and built to ASME RTP-1, ASME BPVC Section X, ASTM and BS EN, with an in-house FRP test lab and a dedicated engineering and FEA team.

Mexico

Hermosillo, Sonora

Our North American fabrication and assembly plant — a 3,200 m² (35,000 sq ft) workshop with an 11 m (36 ft) ceiling on a 3.5-acre site. An automated filament winder produces FRP cylinders up to roughly 21 ft in diameter, assembled here with heads, grating, flanges and accessories — built in-house or supplied from our China operations — into finished vessels, with the largest completed on an outdoor assembly pad. Full-time inspectors control quality to ASME RTP-1, and every unit ships with a complete data book (material certificates, Barcol hardness, dimensional and hydrotest reports and as-built drawings). Under USMCA, FRP parts can be imported for assembly and the finished equipment shipped into the U.S. duty-free — a genuine nearshore option, minutes from the Hermosillo–Nogales highway and about two hours from the seaport at Guaymas.

United States

Tucson, AZ & Los Angeles, CA

Crimar’s U.S. operations span two hubs. Tucson, AZ — our home base — leads hand lay-up FRP fabrication and on-site field services, including field winding, assembly and installation supervision for large equipment across the United States and Canada. Los Angeles, CA is our center for pultruded FRP products — grating, structural profiles, handrail and pipe — supplied fast for domestic projects.

The result is a supply chain that adapts to your project: competitive fabrication and deep FRP capacity in China, nearshore assembly in Mexico, and U.S.-based service and stock — backed end-to-end by Crimar’s engineering and quality system. Learn more about our global reach or talk to our team.
