FRP for Power & Flue-Gas
FGD scrubbers, flue-gas ductwork, dampers and expansion joints built for hot, acidic gas.
For power plants and flue-gas desulfurization (FGD), Crimar supplies FRP scrubbers, flue-gas ductwork, dampers, expansion joints and stacks engineered for hot, acidic gas and constant movement.
The challenge
Flue-gas and FGD systems combine acidic condensate, heat and continuous thermal and mechanical movement. Ducts flex and expand, dampers must seal reliably under dirty gas, and metal corrodes quickly in wet acid-gas service.
How Crimar helps
We engineer FRP duct, scrubbers, dampers and expansion joints for the temperature, chemistry and movement of flue-gas service — including a program of more than 100 FRP flue-gas expansion joints we designed and installed across three U.S. states.
What we supply
Materials & construction
High-temperature and fire-retardant vinyl-ester laminates (antimony trioxide) handle hot acid gas; expansion joints are supplied in fabric and molded-FRP designs with corrosion-resistant hardware.
Standards
- ASME RTP-1
- SMACNA (FRP duct)
- ASTM D3299
